Women are usually the target of home medical transcription ads as they promise that they are able to work from their homes. There are countless advertisements that are run, many of them claiming to earn a good salary from working at home. That being the main selling point, they often leave out that a very small percentage of the industry are able to work from their homes. The reason why only a select few work from their homes is because it is a requirement for transcriptionists to be on site for some companies. Working from home is for a select few. These persons either have many years of experience, are highly skilled or have a combination of both.

There are many options to work as a home medical transcriptionist; however the main one is experience and skill. Generally people get experience in this field by doing courses in this subject or going to a reputable school that offers the course. These schools main focus should concentrate on the different aspects to make you the best at what you do. Once the person finishes the course, they will have to go and look for a job that requires and needs a transcriptionist. It is here that valuable experience will be gained, to the point where it is possible for someone to work from their home.
